What is the best city to party in for Halloween?

What is the most epic place to go to party on Halloween? I’m from Minnesota and it’s kinda cold here during October. House parties are ok but I want some sort of awesome party like Mardi Gras. Is there any place approaching that level of awesomeness on Halloween?

I would have to say New Orleans. There is a grand tradition of voodoo, hauntings, and the whole Anne Rice vampire saga there. Plus House of Shock is one of the most extreme haunted houses and is located in New Orleans.

Next I’d have to say it was a tie between New York, Los Angeles, and San Francisco. Both NY and LA have huge Halloween parades, and SF has an enormous block party.

    Salem, Mass. 🙂

Hmmm… I bet New Orleans is fun on Halloween. I’ve never been there during that time though.
