What fall activities/events do your kids really look forward to?

I’m gearing up for a bunch of stuff to come in Oct. My kids love fall. We do the corn maze, pumpkin festival, of course the halloween stuff, decorating squash/ pumpkins/ watermelons etc.

BQ- Do you have any good pumpkin recipes?

My kids like pumpkin fudge muffins. A can of pumpkin mixed with a box of fudge cake and just baked according to the box and topped with powdered sugar.

Oh, and football. The oldest two boys play flag football.

Visit the pumpkin patch, the pumpkin festival. Thanksgiving and my husband’s birthday are both next week-end. Fall decorating, halloween.

  • Mom to Leah and Adam says:

they look forward to jumping/playing in leaves and trick or treating halloween-well, really my 3 year old son does, my girl will be one in a week, so she doesn’t know enough to look forward to stuff. But I am guessing she’ll look forward to her birthday in the future 🙂

  • ?????? ???™ says:

My daughter’s birthday is in early October, and we always do a fall themed party for her. There’s a small locally-owned farm about half a mile from us, and we borrow the neighbor’s tractor-mower and pull-behind to do a hay ride caravan over there. They have a little pumpkin patch, a corn maze to play in, hot cocoa, etc, and then each birthday party kid gets to pick out a mini pumpkin and we bring them back to our house to paint them.

BQ: Not big fans of pumpkin around here. We do like to save the seeds after gutting our jack-o-lanterns, though, so we can salt and roast them! Yum. We usually make iced sugar cookies, too — Halloween themed, of course.

We have a recipe for a pumpkin cheesecake 🙂
