What are some good ideas for horse Halloween costumes?

My barn is having a halloween costume contest, but I have no idea what to do. My horse’s navicular bone is broken, so he cannot be ridden and only hand walked, but I can still enter the contest. I can’t use anything that washes out, because he absolutely cannot stand baths. He is a bay arabian and his name is Komet. Any fun ideas?

As children, we used to have really fun fancy dress outfits in our pony clubs, but they all needed quite a lot of preparation. I went as Aladdin once with my pony being the magic carpet (a cardboard square secured to the saddle) fully equipped with foam legs so it looked like I was sitting crossed legged lol. Another time we went as an alien and UFO (pony was UFO) – again a LOT of foam to make a huge bowl shape so it looked like I was the alien coming out of the UFO. The easiest one we did was Friday Night/Saturday Morning – pony and I each had one half of us completely made up (immaculate mane with ribbons, decorated bridle, I had lots of make up), then the other half of us was meant to be the morning after – smudged make up, messy mane etc. Come to think of it, my parents rocked for doing all that!!

since his name is Komet, get some poster board, and cut out a star and some "tails" for the end of it. Paint it gold, and then buy some gold/silvery glitter and sprinkle it all over the paint (while its wet), it’s pretty lightweight so I think you could attach it to a surcingle or maybe even tape? or..

get some gold hoof polish too! Bay & gold looks really good!
I think Twinkle makes some spray that is gold/silver, that brushes out so you wont have to wash it..
    here’s the link for twinkle..

I probably didn’t help much, but good luck!
(your lucky your barn does that kind of stuff, I’m like the only person where I board that actually comes down everyday. lol)
