have your invites say "Our Little Pumpkin is Turning 1" then make it a cute pumpkin theme!
get her a pumpkin costume to wear, have small pumpkins as centerpieces and decorations (you can even carve them and put candles inside) or even have a pumpkin carving contest for the kids at the party or everyone if you want! get a bunch of small pumpkins for them to carve and some carving tools- then maybe for the winner give them some kind of Halloween prize or one of those cool pumpkin carving kits. Kids can play "Hot Pumpkin" (hot potato!) with a small pumpkin gourd for small Halloween prizes or candy bags. I think a fall pumpkin theme would be cuter than the regular black and orange Halloween decor- find burnt orange, yellow and brown decorations- now’s a great time ot find fall stuff in stores so pick up stuff you find for super cheap. Dollar store always has neat finds like artificial leaf swags, party decorations, and other party supplies. make pumpkin cupcakes or a pumpkin cake for the cake- bake your cake batter in a metal bowl to get the round shape- then when it’s completely cooled carve it into the pumpkin shape and frost in orange frosting and make the green stem on top, or pumpkin pie is good also. check out this site for great Halloween recipe ideas http://allrecipes.com/Info/Holidays/Halloween/Main.aspx

cupcakes with orange frosting & gummy worms

all orange and black & white paper goods

    finger-painting pumpkins

fill a rubber glove with water & let it freeze, put the ungloved frozen hand in a punch bowl

classic ‘scary’ decorations from the dollar store

you could get reflector strips and make a "sticker game". They can stick reflector strips all over each others costumes (so they can be seen while trick-or-treating)

I’d stay away from the scary decorations, especially if other toddlers will be there. Pumpkins, scarecrows, black cats should be fine:) …. Get a cupcake cake from your local grocery bakery, and have them do it like a pumpkin – or just make a pumpkin bundt cake with Fall sprinkles. Apple slices with caramel dip …. Use those big plastic pumpkins (made for trick-or-treating) to stick real or artificial mums in (and artificial bunches of Fall leaves) … Avon always has fiber optic items for each holiday, or look at Michaels or Hobby Lobby (I have a pumpkin and a scarecrow) …..baskets of red apples; little bales of hay; scarecrow dolls; big & little pumpkins.
